What Precisely Is Famanon?

A worldwide organisation of friends and family members influenced by someone else's substance abuse, or similar problems, is called Family Anonymous. Across the nation, Fam Anon has groups that gather on regular basis. Even if there is only a suspicion of a problem, any concerned individual is deeply encouraged to attend the meetings.

Several families in the UK founded Family Anonymous in 1971. In 1980 the first group in London was founded now there are over 50 groups holding meetings in various parts of the country.

12 Steps and 12 Traditions, first used by Alcoholic Anonymous, are the basis of the self-help society, the Fellowship and its programme.

How Can We Help?

The main objective of Fam Anon is to provide a platform by giving common support and offer a discussion where you can share your problems and experiences for those people especially family members and friends who are present, suspected or previous drugs and liquor addicts. Group members learn how to adjust, cope, encourage and support loved ones under the influence of addiction.

The broader mean of helping family and friends simply implies helping them in critical situation in drug and liquor addiction.

Members adopt an honest and consistent approach towards the addict by attending meeting. Understanding that addict requires help to function without the substance is usually the realisation members come to.
